Job Description

You will be responsible for proactively soliciting and managing large group/catering related opportunities with significant revenue potential. Your main focus will be to manage group/catering opportunities that are not handled by an Event Booking Center (EBC). It will be crucial for you to actively up-sell each business opportunity in order to maximize revenue. Achieving personal and team-related revenue goals will be a key part of your role. You will also be responsible for ensuring that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. Your ultimate goal will be to drive customer/guest loyalty by consistently delivering service excellence throughout each customer/guest experience. To qualify for this position, you should have at least a high school diploma or GED, along with 2 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major from an accredited university will also be considered, with no work experience required. Your core work activities will involve understanding market opportunities and driving revenue. This includes targeting group/catering accounts, markets, or segments through proactive solicitation and account saturation. You will partner with your group/catering counterpart to effectively manage the business opportunity and respond to incoming group/catering opportunities for the property that are outside the parameters of the Event Booking Center. Identifying, qualifying, and soliciting new group/catering business to achieve revenue goals will be a critical part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will focus on group/catering accounts with significant potential sales revenue, develop effective sales plans, and maximize revenue through upselling packages and creative food and beverage offerings. Providing exceptional customer service will also be a key aspect of your role. You will handle complex business with significant revenue potential and customer expectations, building and strengthening relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Developing relationships within the community to expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities will also be essential. By executing exemplary customer service, you will drive customer satisfaction and loyalty, assisting customers before and during their program/event to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded. In addition to the core responsibilities, you will work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure coordinated sales efforts and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Utilizing sales resources, administrative/support staff, and intranet for resources and information will also be part of your additional responsibilities. You will conduct site inspections, create contracts as required, and support the operational aspects of business booked.
