As a Group Sales Manager at Marriott International, your role involves proactively soliciting and managing large group/catering related opportunities with significant revenue potential. You will be responsible for up-selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue and achieving personal and team-related revenue goals. It is your duty to ensure that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. Key Responsibilities: - Target group/catering accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation. - Identify, qualify, and solicit new group/catering business to achieve revenue goals. - Develop effective group/catering sales plans and actions, including designing, developing, and selling creative catered events. - Understand the overall market, competitors" strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and know how to sell against them. - Handle complex business with significant revenue potential and customer expectations, building and strengthening relationships with existing and new customers. Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area; OR a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with no work experience required.
