As a Sr. Technical Product Manager within the Wabtec IT Data & Analytics (DnA) Team, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborate with diverse teams to build Analytics, AI, and Gen AI solutions, manage near-term product plans, and align them with broader AI & data strategy initiatives
- Regularly connect with customers and stakeholders to understand their business needs, conducting interviews to ensure analytics and AI solutions match user requirements
- Own and maintain the product backlog for analytics and AI solutions, ensuring proper grooming and that agreed scope is always ready for development
- Lead the scrum development team activities by facilitating discussions, providing clarification on complex data requirements, managing story acceptance and refinement, testing, and validation of AI-powered solutions
- Demonstrate working knowledge of modern data and AI technology stacks (including cloud platforms, AI and visualization tools) and understand their impact on the final analytics products
- Establish baseline schedules, including setting milestones for key deliverables and Manage 3-4 continuous improvement projects concurrently
- Communicate project updates, including escalations, risks and mitigations to IT & business stakeholders
- Maintain project plans and manage team accountability to ensure successful completion of deliverables within established timelines and captures benefits or ROI and usage metrics
- Contribute to project planning and implementation decisions and support meeting facilitation, note taking, and action item tracking
- Follow prescribed governance processes and development methodologies while collaborating with DnA team members and cross-functional business users

The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- Minimum of Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university or college required
- 1-3 years of experience in project management or scrum teams
- Experience managing team efforts in formal SDLC environment with established governance
- Knowledge and exposure to waterfall and iterative approaches (Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
- Proficiency in SDLC tools like ServiceNow Agile Development, Rally, Jira, MS Project
- Experience working with cross functional teams, preferred experience involving data analytics
- Prefer understanding of manufacturing operations, locomotive systems, product lines, supply chain logistics, and ERP business processes
- Recommends technology choices with impact analysis, using market knowledge partnering with our technology architecture teams
- Skillfully breaks down requirement problems to estimate required efforts and takes initiative to explore new technologies and approaches
- Effectively aligns stakeholder priorities through negotiation and communicates unified direction to development teams while balancing competing interests
- Demonstrates strong awareness of the competitive landscape and how it influences product roadmap, including deliverable timing and MVP scoping

What will your typical day look like
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (AI & data engineers, visualization, App developers, Architects) in daily stand-ups, facilitating solution discussions and removing blockers while ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical implementation
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture requirements, convert them into actionable technical specs, and adjust the product roadmap priorities based on value and feasibility assessments
- Partner with the Development Team Technology Manager to evaluate technical approaches, make architecture decisions, and ensure solutions leverage appropriate technologies while maintaining scalability and performance
- Lead product planning sessions to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals, then track progress through regular demos and reviews that showcase new capabilities to stakeholders
- Analyze product metrics and user feedback to identify improvement opportunities, then work with the team to implement enhancements while maintaining documentation of product features and technical decisions
- Participate in DnA team communications and events, including contributing to newsletters and supporting product launch activities
