Sr. Systems Engineer

Role Overview: As a member of Arista Networks" Infrastructure Engineering team, you will collaborate with SREs, network, and security engineers to ensure the high availability, scalability, and performance of the global infrastructure, including data centers and hybrid cloud environments. Your responsibilities will involve operating global infrastructure, managing service availability, RMA, and refreshing gear, colo migration, server patching and upgrades, on-call duties including responding to security incidents, building data center solutions with Infra-as-code, designing hybrid cloud environments, working closely with SREs to manage software components, and server selection, qualification, and deployment. Key Responsibilities: - Operate global infrastructure and ensure service availability - Perform RMA and refresh gear as required - Conduct colo migration when needed - Manage server patching and upgrades - Participate in on-call rotations and respond to security incidents - Build data center solutions using Infra-as-code - Design hybrid cloud environments integrating public cloud IaaS and physical data centers - Collaborate with SREs to manage software components in a production grade environment - Select, qualify, and deploy servers Qualifications: - Preferred qualification of BS in Computer Science - Proficiency in system administration for Linux, ESXi, and development in Python, IaaC, Ansible, Terraform - Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Github, etc. - Understanding of L2 and L3 OSI Network Layers - Hands-on experience with VCF stack - Administrative level understanding of Public Cloud Providers - Knowledge in Capacity Management, Availability monitoring, and Tools for monitoring the Pop infra (AIOPs, Wavefront, LogicMonitor, Elk stack, saltstack, etc.) Company Additional Details: Arista Networks is known for being an engineering-centric company with a flat and streamlined management structure.
