Sr. Systems Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and providing ongoing operations and maintenance support for client and Clients infrastructures, primarily focusing on post-implementation support. Working as part of a 24/7 team, your role will be crucial in ensuring a secure and stable environment to keep operations running smoothly and effectively for customers. Additionally, you will serve as an escalation point for Systems Engineer I and II and provide coaching for the team. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor emails for incoming issues, updates, or questions from customers/colleagues. - Monitor the ticket management system for incoming tickets and updates. - Advise the team on tickets in the queue. - Manage escalated/assigned tickets to ensure SLA compliance and customer satisfaction. - Prioritize tickets based on severity/urgency and provide guidance to others on priorities. - Deliver customer-focused support via phone calls and ticket-based communications. - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve external customer and Systems issues. - Research issues using various resources and follow standard ITIL practices. - Conduct project scoping and drive project deliverables for sponsored projects. - Proactively monitor the environment for issues and opportunities. - Develop strategies for compliance testing and identify opportunities for system performance improvement. - Review and manage team documentation activities, including systems documentation, MOPs, run books, known issues, and reports. - Apply broad knowledge to coach and mentor other engineers. - Communicate technical information clearly and professionally with technical and non-technical audiences. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7-10 years of system engineering experience or equivalent. - Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems and VMware virtualization technologies. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio. - Certifications such as RHCE/SCSA/SCNA/LPIC for Linux/Unix, MCSE/MCITP for Microsoft, and VCP/VCAP for VMware.
