We are looking for a passionate and result-oriented Senior SEO Executive who can lead our organic growth strategy and ensure top rankings in search engines, with special focus on Google Discover, News SEO, and Top Stories visibility.

Key Responsibilities

On-Page SEO Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth keyword research & mapping for sports news, cricket, football, player profiles, and evergreen articles.
• Optimize meta titles, descriptions, header tags (H1-H6), schema markup, and internal linking for maximum visibility.
• Ensure content freshness and optimization for real-time sports news and match updates.
• Optimize for Google Discover and Top Stories to maximize traffic from breaking news.
• Implement SEO-friendly URL structures, breadcrumbs, and canonical tags.
• Work with editorial/content teams to create SEO-optimized match previews, player bios, stats pages, and sports articles.
• Regularly monitor on-page performance using tools like GSC, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, page speed, and mobile-first optimization.
• Maintain XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and structured data (NewsArticle, LiveBlogPosting, VideoObject, etc.) for better indexing.

Off-Page SEO Responsibilities

• Plan and execute white-hat link-building strategies to improve domain authority and organic visibility.
• Identify and collaborate with sports blogs, publishers, and influencers for backlinks and mentions.
• Monitor and analyze backlink profile, toxic links, and disavow when needed.
• Drive brand mentions, citations, and guest posting opportunities in the sports niche.
• Build content marketing strategies to attract organic backlinks from high-authority sources.
• Track competitor backlinks and implement strategies to stay ahead.
• Improve overall E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) signals for SportsYaari.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of SEO experience (preferably in news, media, or sports websites).
• Strong expertise in On-page & Off-page SEO, Technical SEO, and Content SEO.
• Knowledge of Google algorithms, News SEO, and Discover optimization.
• Hands-on experience with SEO tools (Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.).
• Familiarity with structured data, schema markup, and AMP optimization.
• Ability to manage large-scale content sites with high daily publishing volume.
• Passion for sports (especially cricket & football) is highly preferred.
