Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Direct Tax Responsibilities:

  • Manage U.S. federal, state and local income tax filings and reporting (including form1120) for the organization working closely with outside tax advisors.
  • Review and manage tax provision (ASC 740) and quarterly tax estimates including collaboration with cross country tax managers for consolidated numbers.
  • Monitor U.S. tax law changes and assess their impact on the company's operations in close coordination with outside tax advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and filing deadlines.
  • Review tax notices, audits and assist in managing any tax disputes with IRS or state authorities with assistance from tax advisors.
  • Advise senior leadership on tax strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize tax positions.

2. Indirect Tax Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess deliverables prepared by external firms, including sales/use tax/VAT filings, and other compliance-related documents across various jurisdictions ensuring filings are prepared accurately, reflect company data appropriately, and are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Manage state and local tax registrations, reporting, and audits with help from external tax advisor.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct application of indirect tax laws on transactions.
  • Assess and advise on the indirect tax implications of new business models, services.
  • Lead indirect tax audits and work closely with tax authorities in coordination with tax advisors to resolve any issues.

3. Tax Planning & Strategy:

  • Identify and implement tax-saving strategies to reduce the company's overall tax burden, including tax credits, incentives, and deductions.
  • Support transfer pricing initiatives and documentation, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Stay up to date with U.S. federal and state tax law changes to ensure compliance and mitigate tax risks.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place for tax compliance and risk management.

4. Team Management & Collaboration:

  • Mentor and manage a team of junior tax professional.
  • Close collaboration with external tax advisors ensuring timely and complete actions.
  • Collaborate with internal finance, cross country tax managers, legal counsel, and other departments to ensure comprehensive tax strategies.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

Experience:

    • At least 10 years of U.S. tax experience, with multinational organisation
    • Experience in international tax and transfer pricing.
    • In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws, including experience with sales and use tax, VAT, and corporate income taxes.
    • Hands on working experience in SAP ERP.
    • Proven experience in managing tax audits and working with tax authorities.
    • Experience in the ITES sector companies is a plus.

Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
    • Advanced proficiency with tax compliance software (e.g., Onesource, Vertex, etc.) and MS Excel.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
