SR ENGINEER-FIRMWARE TESTING

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for firmware testing.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing for firmware and embedded systems of Kitchen and Bath products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review product requirements and design specifications.
• Identify, analyze, and document defects in the firmware, providing detailed feedback to the engineering team.
• Good understanding of automation test framework
• Utilize automated testing tools to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to firmware and embedded systems.
• Help accosiates to prepare testbed setup, test management practices and implement methods for repeatability with minimum maintenance
• Responsible in robust quality delivery.
• Responsible for supporting Automation lead in Scripting and know-how of Python programming language
• Experience in schematic understanding.
• Fair knowledge of wired / wireless protocols
  

Skills And Tools Required

• Strong experience in firmware testing methodologies and best practices.
• Proficiency in programming / scripting languages such as C, C++, or Python.
• Familiarity with embedded systems design and architecture.
• Experience with hardware and software debugging tools, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Experience in any home automation / IOT/ or any electronics-based industry
• Experience in testing different communication protocols such as Wireless / Wired (MQTT, BLE, Ethernet, RS 232, SPI, I2C)
• Understanding of Azure/ AWS cloud.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools like Robot Framework, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with version control systems such as VSTS, Git or SVN.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in firmware testing or related roles.
• Experience with wireless protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) or industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, MODBUS) is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.
