Sr. Engineer – Direct Purchase (Direct Material & Vendor Development)

Industry: Automotive / Tractor Parts (Axles, Shafts, Spindles, Yokes)

Location: Baddi, Himachal Pradesh

Qualification: B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical (Male)

Experience : 6+ Years

Job Description:

• Responsible for Direct Material Purchasing of machined and forged components (axles, shafts, spindles, yokes, etc.)
• Handle Vendor Development for new components – supplier identification, capability assessment & approval
• Release RFQs for direct materials & obtain competitive quotations
• Conduct costing, cost comparisons & price negotiations with suppliers
• Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, machined parts & outsourced components
• Coordinate with Production, Quality & Engineering for new part development, PPAP, APQP & trials
• Monitor vendor performance – quality, delivery, cost & capacity
• Work on cost reduction projects (VA/VE, localization, alternative suppliers)
• Prepare & maintain purchase-related MIS reports
• Ensure adherence to company quality and procurement standards

Key Skillset Required:

• Strong knowledge of machining, forging, fabrication & vendor processes
• Understanding of drawings, GD&T, process flow, BOM & material grades
• Hands-on experience in APQP, PPAP, supplier audits & new part development
• Knowledge of costing for machining, forgings, castings & assemblies
• Good negotiation & supplier relationship-management skills
• Proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Table, Formulas)
• Strong communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
