Sr. Distribution Engineer Utility and lighting

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer/Manager/Lead with 12+ years of experience, you will be responsible for leading the design, planning, and coordination of electrical distribution systems, mainly in railways systems including mainline, metros, semi high-speed, and high-speed projects. Your technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of electrical design standards will be crucial for this role. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale projects for India and abroad, with a focus on the transportation sector, particularly Railways. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design of electrical systems for various buildings and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications, local building codes, NEC, Indian standards, RDSO standards, and international standards. - Hands-on experience in designing power distribution systems and building services electrification. - Provide guidance on design processes and technical challenges. - Collaborate with project managers and design professionals to define project requirements and ensure design milestones are met. - Prepare and review design drawings, calculations, and specifications. - Coordinate the integration of electrical design with other systems like MEP systems, architectural, and structural disciplines. - Design MVLV, MEP systems, including protection and SCADA for transportation system installations. - Familiarity with railway electrification standards, European codes & standards, utility grids, and protection systems. - Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical layout design. - Experience in estimating electrical equipment, preparing technical reports, and reviewing vendor submittals. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance design efficiency and quality. - Engage with clients to understand their needs and translate them into functional designs. - Provide regular project updates to clients and assist with procurement and tendering processes. Required Qualifications And Skills: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. - Experience: 12+ years in Electrical distribution and services design, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role. - Proven track record in managing engineering projects from concept to completion. - Ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers and designers. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail in the preparation of design documents and technical specifications.
