Sr. Director of Engineering

Job Description: As a leader in this role, you will provide strategic direction to multiple engineering teams, ensuring that technology initiatives are in alignment with the overall business goals. You will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of products, including managing architecture, delivery, and performance aspects while effectively balancing priorities, resources, and timelines. Your role will involve defining and enhancing best practices, processes, and quality standards to drive engineering excellence, ultimately improving velocity, maintainability, and performance. Collaborating closely with Product, Design, Support, and Implementation teams, you will drive product delivery to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes. Additionally, you will advocate for innovation by promoting modern development practices, tools, and technologies to keep the teams and products at the forefront of the industry. Building and nurturing high-performing globally distributed teams will be a key focus, involving hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers and engineering leaders. Your responsibilities will also include working with executive leadership to execute long-term technology strategies and plans, as well as spearheading initiatives to enhance engineering productivity and drive organizational transformation. Key Responsibilities: - Provide strategic leadership to multiple engineering teams, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives - Oversee a diverse product portfolio, managing architecture, delivery, and performance while balancing priorities, resources, and timelines - Define and evolve best practices, processes, and quality standards to enhance engineering excellence - Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Support, and Implementation teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery - Champion modern development practices, tools, and technologies to foster innovation - Build and scale globally distributed, high-performing teams by hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers and engineering leaders - Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term technology strategy and execution plans - Identify and lead initiatives to improve engineering productivity and drive organizational transformation Qualifications Required: - Proven leadership experience at the Sr Engineering (Technical) Manager level or above, managing global engineering teams and driving performance across multiple product lines - Hands-on software development background with expertise in modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures - Demonstrated success in scaling teams, enhancing engineering operations, and delivering complex software products - Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams - Data-driven decision-making approach with a focus on operational excellence - Prior international exposure, including experience working across global markets such as Sri Lanka, the United States, and Australia - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Additional Company Details (if present): N/A,
