Job Description

Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update accounting records, including the general ledger. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements to verify accuracy. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Keep balance sheet accounts clean and up-to-date. Perform regular reconciliations for accuracy.
Fixed Assets and Prepaid Schedules: Update and maintain the fixed assets register. Manage prepaid expenses and ensure proper accounting.
Intercompany Transactions: Handle financial transactions between the international subsidiaries and other entities within the organization. Ensure proper documentation and compliance.
Cash Flow Projections: Prepare cash flow forecasts based on historical data and future plans. Monitor liquidity and recommend actions as needed.
Month-End and Year-End Closes: Lead closing processes, including accruals and adjustment journal entries. Conduct flux analysis to identify trends and anomalies.
Stakeholder Communication: Independently engage with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regarding financial matters. Research and interpret data to address inquiries.
Compliance and Tax Filings: Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and timely tax filings. Collaborate with tax professionals as needed.
Process Improvement and Documentation: Continuously enhance financial processes and controls. Document procedures and best practices.
Professional Development: Stay informed by participating in educational opportunities, reading industry publications, and networking. Engage with professional organizations to expand your knowledge base.
Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and mentoring to team members.

What Cowbell needs from you

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field required: Masters preferred.
5+ years of relevant India, US & UK accounting experience
US & UK GAAP experience
Netsuite, Snowflake, and Salesforce experience is a plus
Insurance accounting experience is a plus
Statutory accounting required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented
Experience creating and managing procedures and documentation
Flexible and open to change, innovation, and new information
High level of organization and a willingness to problem-solve
Sense of urgency and mission-driven and must know how to manage pressure.
