Specialist Product Engineering

Purpose/Objective

Lead Product Engineering is responsible to manage and execute engineering activities for assigned products, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. This role involves preparing technical specifications, evaluating technical offers, overseeing new vendor evaluation and product development, ensuring adherence to internal processes and standards, and providing technical training for end users. The Executive - Technical Engineer also coordinates site visits and documentation, while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Lead Product Engineering Technical Specification and Documentation: Develop and amend detailed technical specifications based on comprehensive user feedback. Create, review, and update tender documents to meet organizational requirements. Perform in-depth technical evaluation of offers and make informed recommendations for procurement. Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation for all related activities and ensure accuracy. Drawing Approvals and Manufacturing Clearances: Review and approve detailed engineering drawings to ensure compliance with standards. Issue manufacturing clearances to vendors following rigorous verification processes. Conduct thorough factory inspections to ensure materials meet all specified requirements. Vendor and Product Management: Participate in conducting thorough evaluations of potential new vendors to ensure suitability. Manage the development and introduction of new products in line with company objectives. Ensure strict adherence to internal processes and standards for all engineering activities. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with technical specifications. Site Coordination and Visits: Conduct site visits to provide technical support and ensure proper installation and operation. Offer technical training for end users both in classroom settings and on-site, ensuring comprehensive understanding and use of products. Coordinate with site teams to ensure readiness and resolve any technical issues encountered. Quality Assurance and Safety: Ensure rigorous quality inspection of products at vendor sites in accordance with internal standards. Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) for all engineering activities. Design and engineer safety tools and systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Address and resolve any safety-related issues identified during committee meetings or inspections. Engineering Support and Maintenance: Provide expert engineering inputs for the sizing and installation of substation and receiving station equipment. Develop customized solutions for equipment in space-constrained areas to optimize functionality. Collaborate with diagnostic teams to improve equipment designs based on detailed root cause analysis (RCA). Intervene in cases of OEM nonresponse for critical equipment maintenance and service issues. Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Work Experience (Range of years): 8-15 Years Preferred Industry: Experience in EPC or Oil and Gas sector (must have worked with the asset classes used in distribution or transmission system)
