The Consultant Services Specialist is a highly interactive role with responsibility for completing quantitative due diligence questionnaires (also referred as Data Templates) and maintaining third-party and consultant on-line databases with inputs which accurately and favorably represent the organization and its investment products and services, to clients and their advisers. This role is instrumental in retaining and enhancing existing client and consultant relationships by regularly meeting critical timelines and providing accurate and timely information about Franklin Templetons products to internal and external clients. The Specialist will interact with external clients via online database systems and also be required to communicate via email.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Consultant Services Specialist?
Support Client Retention by Completing Data Templates (also known as Due Diligence questionnaire):
-
Complete monthly, quarterly or annual client retention requests, primarily quantitative in nature (i.e. data templates) for all channels, globally.
-
The Specialist will have to review, analyze and update each of the existing data template request using the sources and defined approach followed previously. Each data template will be reviewed by a more senior team member before it is distributed externally. The expectation is that over time, with guidance from a senior team member, the Consultant Service Specialist will learn to interpret the questions that are asked, learn the sources of information, and be able to apply these learnings to other similar types of requests. The Specialist sources the information from several internal sources like the RFP Knowledgebase, PARR - Risk Team, PIE - Product Data Services, Product Management, Fund Accounting, Legal and Compliance, Prospectus, Annual Reports, etc.
-
For new data templates, specialist is required to review and analyze the client requirement, set up meeting with Sr Specialist/Supervisor to clarify any question or approach, plan to source the data from approved sources, set timeline for completion of the template.
-
Must follow Franklin Templetons core values, as the Specialist will interact with various teams throughout the organization (i.e., sales, client services, consultant relations, product management, legal/compliance, PARR - Risk team, etc.) and will also have exposure to external clients via email.
Update and maintain key content in third-party consultant databases:
-

This includes quantitative updates supported via eVestments OMNI application and manual updates of products that are not supported via Omni. Data requested here includes Performance, Characteristics, Allocation, Investment Professional Count, Holdings, Fees, Assets, etc.
-
Participate in projects intended to maintain qualitative components of each database, like narratives, key personnel changes, fund updates, ESG, Diversity and Inclusion etc.
-
The Specialist will be trained on how to access and navigate through the database and whats required to be updated. However based on general training provided, the expectation is that over time, with guidance from a senior team member, the Consultant Service Specialist will learn to interpret the questions that are asked, learn the sources of information, and be able to apply these learnings to other similar types of requests.
-
Complete opportunities for new business via third party or consultant databases with support from a senior team member. This includes reviewing client email and working with relationship manager to propose the appropriate product, building and meeting project timelines, ensuring the propose product profiles are current and reflect Franklin Templetons messaging, that profiles have been reviewed by the subject matter expert and then shared with sales or consultant relations. Database profile updates leverage several internal sources like the RFP Knowledgebase, PARR - Risk Team, PIE, Prospectus, Annual Reports etc.
-
Complete initial set-up for all new product addition requests with support from a senior team member. This includes building and meeting project timelines, ensuring the profiles are current and reflect Franklin Templetons messaging, that profiles have been reviewed by the subject matter expert and then shared with sales or consultant relations. Database profile updates leverage several internal sources like the RFP Knowledgebase, PARR, PIE, etc. Once the profile is complete, it is expected that the Specialist would share learnings with the team that could be applied to future product additions.
-
Must follow Franklin Templetons core values, as the Specialist will interact with various teams throughout the organization (i.e. sales, client services, consultant relations, product management, legal/compliance, PARR - Risk Team, etc.) and will also have exposure to external clients via email
