Position Title: Special Educator cum Student Counselor

About the Role
We are looking for a committed and compassionate Special Educator cum Student Counselor who can support students with diverse learning needs while also offering emotional and developmental guidance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and student-centric school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Special Education Support

  • Identify learning needs through assessments, classroom observations, and interactions with students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on students’ strengths and challenges.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group intervention for children with special learning needs.
  • Modify lesson plans, teaching strategies, and classroom activities to support inclusive education.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate accommodations and differentiated instruction in classrooms.
  • Maintain documentation, progress records, and reports for each child under the special needs program.

Student Counseling

  • Provide emotional, behavioral, and academic counseling to students as required.
  • Support students dealing with stress, peer concerns, self-esteem issues, or adjustment challenges.
  • Conduct counseling sessions using age-appropriate and ethical practices.
  • Work closely with parents to discuss student progress and provide guidance for home support.
  • Coordinate with teachers, school leadership, and external professionals when needed.

School Collaboration & Engagement

  • Conduct awareness sessions and guidance programs for students, teachers, and parents.
  • Participate in school meetings, case discussions, and multidisciplinary planning.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and empathetic school culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Psychology
  • B.Ed in Special Education (Mandatory)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Special Education and Student Counseling
  • Excellent communication and English language skills
  • Strong computer proficiency for documentation and reporting
  • Experience in a CBSE school will be an added advantage
