Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our team in a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will have expertise in healthcare products and medical coding. This role involves ensuring accurate coding of medical records contributing to the efficiency of healthcare services and supporting the companys mission to improve patient care. The position operates during day shifts and does not require travel.

Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records to support healthcare operations and billing processes.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to verify and clarify coding information ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures enhancing data accuracy.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Provide feedback and recommendations to improve coding processes and enhance overall efficiency.

Utilize healthcare products to streamline coding operations and improve data management.

Support the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality.

Participate in training sessions to stay informed about changes in coding practices and healthcare regulations.

Contribute to the development of coding resources and tools to assist team members in their daily tasks.

Assist in the preparation of reports and data analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of coding practices.

Monitor coding performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration of coding systems with other healthcare applications.

Qualifications

Possess a strong understanding of medical coding principles and practices with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Demonstrate proficiency in using healthcare products to enhance coding efficiency and data management.

Exhibit excellent analytical skills to interpret medical documentation and assign appropriate codes.

Show strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and team members.

Display a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with coding guidelines and regulations.

Have a detail-oriented approach to ensure precision in coding and data entry.

Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.

Certifications Required

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is required.
