Sonography Technician

About The Opportunity

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations (abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecologic) and Doppler studies according to clinical requests and departmental protocols.
• Operate and optimise ultrasound equipment and transducers to acquire high-quality diagnostic images; perform standard measurements and annotate studies for physician review.
• Prepare and position patients, explain procedures clearly, maintain patient comfort, and ensure infection-control and safety protocols are followed.
• Upload and manage studies in PACS/DICOM, maintain accurate logs and patient records, and assist radiologists/physicians with image review and preliminary findings.
• Perform routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting and maintenance; report technical faults and coordinate with service teams to minimise downtime.
• Adhere to departmental SOPs, maintain confidentiality, escalate urgent/critical findings promptly, and participate in quality assurance activities.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Diploma or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography / DMRIT / relevant allied health qualification from a recognised institute.
• 1+ years hands-on experience performing ultrasound and Doppler studies in a hospital or diagnostic centre (obstetric & abdominal focus preferred).
• Strong practical skills in image acquisition, measurements, and familiarity with PACS/DICOM workflows.
• Patient-centred communication, good documentation habits, and ability to work independently in an on-site clinical setting (Kotma, MP).
• Attention to image quality, infection-control practices, and basic equipment care.
  

Preferred

• Certification from a recognised sonography board or additional training in Doppler/advanced obstetric scanning.
• Experience with vendor platforms (GE, Philips, Siemens, Samsung) and prior exposure to high-volume maternity clinics.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or first-aid certification and flexibility to work shifts when required.
