Job Description

Role Overview: As a Wine Steward at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore, your main responsibility is to issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles. You will need to address guest inquiries or concerns about the origin, vintage, and style of different wines. Your tasks will also involve updating and managing the wine list and MICROS system, as well as recommending and suggesting wines that best complement menu items. Attending wine tastings, building relationships with vendors, and sourcing new wines and products are crucial components of your role. Additionally, creating and maintaining wine lists, developing wine promotions, and monitoring inventory are part of your duties. Key Responsibilities: - Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles - Answer guest questions about wines - Update and maintain wine list and MICROS system - Pair and suggest wines for menu items - Attend wine tastings and cultivate vendor relationships - Request new wines and products - Create and update wine lists - Design and implement wine promotions - Monitor and replenish inventory of wine cellar and equipment - Train and educate server and bartender staff - Conduct staff wine tastings - Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas - Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly - Maintain accurate spill sheet Qualifications Required: - Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree - Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience (Note: No additional details about the company were included in the job description provided),
