Solution Architect

Critical Skills to Possess:

       Bachelor?s or master?s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

       Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in payment systems architecture and automation architecture, with mandatory experience in embedded and IoT device development for the payments industry.

       Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in the card data industry, including cardholder data environment (CDE) security.

       Strong expertise with EMV standards, including chip card technology, transaction flow, and certification processes.

       Strong knowledge of payment processing workflows, gateways, acquiring, issuing, and settlement processes.

       Experience with payment standards and protocols such as ISO 8583, PCI DSS, 3-D Secure, tokenization, and encryption.

       Expertise in embedded systems development, IoT device architecture, firmware development, and hardware-software integration.

       Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), CI/CD pipelines, workflow orchestration, and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).

       Familiarity with payment platforms like Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Stripe, Adyen, or similar.

       Proficiency in software development and system design (languages such as Java, C#, Python, C/C++ for embedded development).

       Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, and container orchestration.

       Strong understanding of API design, RESTful services, and event-driven architectures.

       Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

       Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with Sales, Product Managers, Product Owners, PMO, and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience

Roles and Responsibilities:

       Design, develop, and oversee the architecture of payment platforms and systems OR  embedded and IoT payment devices.

       Ensure all payment solutions comply with EMV standards, PCI DSS, and other relevant card data security requirements.

       Define technical standards and best practices for payment processing, security, compliance, and automation.

       Lead the integration of various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, ACH, digital wallets, and emerging payment technologies.

       Architect and implement automation frameworks to support payment processing, reconciliation, reporting, and exception handling.

       Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Managers, Product Owners, PMO, and external vendors to design robust, scalable, and generic payment solutions that meet business needs.

       Drive the design and development of embedded systems and IoT devices used in payment environments, ensuring security and performance.

       Ensure payment and automation systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant with PCI DSS, EMV, and other regulatory requirements.

       Evaluate and recommend new payment technologies and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

       Design and maintain APIs and integration points to enable seamless automation across payment workflows.

       Troubleshoot and resolve complex payment, embedded device, and automation system issues and optimize performance.

       Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and automation teams.

       Document architecture designs, system workflows, automation scripts, embedded device specifications, and technical documentation.

Stakeholder Management Responsibilities:

       Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and customers

       Manage stakeholder expectations and concerns, and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner

       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure stakeholder needs are met and expectations are exceeded

Payments and PCI DSS Responsibilities:

       Ensure the secure handling and processing of payments, including credit card transactions

       Implement and maintain PCI DSS compliance across all payment systems and processes

       Collaborate with the security team to ensure the security and integrity of payment data

       Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging threats in payment security

Automation Enhancements Responsibilities:

       Identify opportunities for automation enhancements across the organization

       Lead the implementation of automation tools and technologies, such as RPA, machine learning, and AI

       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation enhancements align with business goals and objectives

       Develop and maintain relationships with key technology partners and vendors in the automation space
