Position Summary
The Solutions Architect for the Data & Analytics (D&A) portfolio will lead the design, development, and governance of scalable, high-performance data solutions that empower business insights and decision-making. This role will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, data engineers, platform teams, and enterprise architects to ensure that data-driven systems align with Prologis' technology strategy and D&A roadmap. The architect will also play a strategic role in leveraging emerging technologies such as Generative AI (GenAI) to accelerate modernization and data value realization across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Architecture & Design Develop end-to-end data solution architectures that integrate ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics layers. Define data modeling standards, data pipelines, and integration patterns for both on-prem and cloud-based systems (primarily Snowflake, Azure, Informatica, Databricks, etc.). Partner with product owners and engineers to design scalable and maintainable data platforms and APIs. Ensure alignment of solutions with enterprise architecture principles and D&A governance models.
2. Technical Leadership Provide architectural direction for projects within the D&A portfolio--including data warehousing, data lake, and analytics modernization initiatives. Review solution designs from data engineering teams, ensuring compliance with security, scalability, and performance standards. Mentor and guide engineers and analysts on best practices for data architecture, integration, and performance optimization.
3. Governance & Standards Contribute to and enforce standards around data quality, metadata management, lineage, and master data management. Ensure solutions adhere to compliance, privacy, and security requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Define and document reusable architecture patterns and reference models.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management Partner with enterprise architects, business partners, and application teams to translate business requirements into technical blueprints. Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration across systems. Participate in architecture review boards and strategic planning discussions.
Experience:
15+ years of experience in IT, including 8+ years in data architecture or solution design roles.
Proven record of delivering cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS) and Snowflake implementations at enterprise scale.
Proven experience designing and implementing data solutions using modern cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or Databricks).
Experience with Generative AI or automation frameworks for legacy-to-modern application migration.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in data modeling, data integration, and distributed data systems. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud-native data tools.
Strong understanding of BI/Analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
Knowledge of API-based data integrations and event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code principles. Platforms: Azure (Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake), AWS (Solutions Architect - Associate), DataStage, IIB.
