Job Description

You will join VE3, a global technology company dedicated to providing innovative digital solutions for organizations to achieve their full potential. You will play a crucial role in a strategic digital transformation program for a higher education client as a Solution Architect. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary architecture team to shape the client's IT service landscape, ensuring scalable solutions that align with institutional goals. Your main focus will be on designing and implementing solutions for end-user compute services and IT environments that support academic and operational excellence. You will be responsible for translating business needs and technology strategies into actionable solution designs, maintaining High-Level Design documentation, and ensuring architectural consistency across various integrations. Specifically, you will define and design services for student and staff compute environments, including managed desktops, VDI, and remote access platforms. You will drive the creation of automated, on-demand environments for key IT systems using infrastructure-as-code and DevOps tooling, ensuring maintainable, scalable, and user-focused compute solutions. Additionally, you will contribute to the delivery of secure and policy-compliant services, including Privileged Access Management (PAM) and data obfuscation. In your role, you will act as a trusted advisor and architectural lead, engaging with IT stakeholders, academic leaders, service owners, and delivery teams. You will facilitate collaborative workshops, influence design decisions, and provide technical leadership and mentoring to project delivery teams. To excel in this position, you should have proven experience as a Solution Architect in complex IT environments, preferably within higher education or the public sector. You must possess a deep understanding of end-user computing platforms, digital workplace services, and virtualized environments. Desirable skills include knowledge of tools and technologies for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, desktop imaging, patching, endpoint management, infrastructure as code, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation. Familiarity with Privileged Access Management solutions and IT governance principles is also essential. Ideally, you will have a background in higher education, research, or public sector IT services, along with exposure to teaching and learning computing needs and digital delivery of academic services. Knowledge of ITIL, service management best practices, data security, privacy, and obfuscation practices is advantageous. Key attributes for success in this role include being technically broad, strategically minded, a strong communicator, a collaborative team player, and having a passion for user-focused service delivery and long-term value creation. In return, you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package, opportunities for professional development and certification, as well as flexible working arrangements in a collaborative team environment.,
