Job Description

Software Tester / QA Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Review requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to understand project scope.
Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
Perform various types of manual testing including functional, regression, system, integration, and UAT.
Identify, log, and track defects using tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or Mantis.
Conduct retesting and regression testing after bug fixes to validate functionality.
Validate data using SQL queries and ensure accuracy of backend operations.
Prepare detailed test reports, defect summaries, and documentation of test results.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
Contribute to enhancing QA processes, standards, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies.
Hands-on experience in manual testing; exposure to automation will be an added advantage.
Proficiency with bug-tracking and test management tools.
Good analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
