Software Test Engineer

Job Overview:

The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans and test cases to ensure software quality. You will collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to identify issues, improve testing processes, and ensure seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  
• Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and usability testing.
  
• Identify, report, and track bugs using test management and defect tracking tools.
  
• Participate in requirement analysis to ensure test coverage and quality.
  
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to replicate and resolve issues.
  
• Automate test cases using testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.).
  
• Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or RestAssured.
  
• Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
  
• Document all testing activities, results, and quality reports.
  
• Stay updated on the latest QA methodologies, tools, and technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Software Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or similar role.
  
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and SDLC.
  
• Hands-on experience with manual testing.
  
• Experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  
• Proficiency in using bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail).
  
• Basic understanding of programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar).
  
• Knowledge of API testing and tools (Postman, Swagger).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience testing web, mobile, and cloud-based applications.
  
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with automation frameworks.
  
• Familiarity with performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner).
  
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices.
  
• Certification in QA (ISTQB, CSTE) is a plus.
