Software functional Safety Engineer (FuSa)

Job Title: Software Functional Safety Engineer Location: Bangalore, India Experience: 8 Years Open Positions: 1 Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Software Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Functional Safety according to ISO 26262, with hands-on experience in software safety activities, safety analysis, and safety work products. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure software safety compliance throughout all phases of the lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: The engineer will perform Software FMEA for safety■critical components and conduct Software Dependent Failure Analysis to identify dependent or latent faults and define mitigation measures. The role includes participation in Functional Safety activities across ISO 26262 Part 3, Part 4, and Part 6. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining safety documentation such as Software Safety Requirements, Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Requirements, and FuSa System Concepts. The engineer will ensure full traceability from safety goals to architecture and verification. The position also requires close collaboration with architects, developers, and test teams to ensure proper implementation of safety mechanisms. The engineer will take part in reviews, audits, and assessments, ensuring alignment with ISO 26262 and supporting verification and validation activities including reviews, static analysis, and test coverage. Required Skills and Qualifications: The candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in automotive software development with specialization in Functional Safety. A deep understanding of ISO 26262 Parts 3, 4, and 6 is essential. Strong knowledge of embedded software development and automotive architectures is required along with experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or Jama. Strong communication and documentation skills are necessary. Preferred Qualifications: Certification such as Functional Safety Engineer ISO 26262, experience with ASPICE processes, and exposure to automotive ECUs, ADAS, powertrain, or other safety■critical systems are preferred.
