Software Development Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the development team by providing technical guidance, removing blockers, reviewing code, managing CI/CD pipelines, and contributing hands-on development as needed.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of a distributed development team.
• Work closely with the Product team to ensure requirements are clearly defined, understood, and prioritized.
• Collaborate with Project Management to ensure project status is accurate, risks are visible, and issues are escalated promptly.
• Partner with the Architecture team to design technical solutions and contribute to shared technical roadmaps.
• Engage with key stakeholders, prospects, and customers to help identify, evaluate, and prioritize product features and functionality.
• Work as an equal and collaborative team member with the onshore US team and Scrum teams to deliver enhancements aligned with the product roadmap.
• Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews/demos, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate effectively with team members across multiple US time zones using Microsoft Teams, Atlassian Jira, and other collaboration tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree required
• 9+ years of hands-on software development
• 3+ years building and managing high performance software development teams
• Experience in cloud hosted SAAS (Software as a Service) industry
• Ability to analyze and understand existing code, how it functions, and how to make enhancements with only appropriate re-factoring.
• 6-8 years working with the .NET Framework and .NET Core application stacks including ASP.NET and ASP Classic.
• Proficient development skills in Microsoft VB6 and C#.
• Detailed understanding of Microsoft SQL Server including building and maintaining complex Stored Procedures and Triggers.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban or SCRUM) as a development manager
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using Jira for Agile project management
