Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience: 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java and related technologies.
- Thorough understanding of RESTful API design and distributed system fundamentals.
- Strong experience and deep expertise in Kubernetes platform architecture, operations, and ecosystem.
- Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software development practices.
- Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in production or high-scale environments.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work independently on projects and pursue appropriate guidance when required, especially on cross-team initiatives.
- You should be a distributed systems generalist, able to understand broad systems interactions, have excellent design skills while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower-level system interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Java solutions with Kubernetes, container networking, or developing custom operators/controllers.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure as code.
- Exposure to Go or Python is a plus.
- Contributions to open-source projects or experience in large-scale cloud environments.

Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently drive design, implementation, and operational excellence for backend services and components of the OKE platform, with a focus on Java and related technologies.
- Collaborate across teams: Work effectively with architects, product leaders, and other engineering teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives around scalability, security, and availability.
- Lead and deliver on moderately complex features and subsystems; improve existing platform elements, and contribute to new ancillary features.
- Demonstrate engineering rigor: Write robust, maintainable, and secure code, while producing appropriate tests and clear technical documentation.
- Contribute to operational readiness: Support incident response as part of the on-call rotation, proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, and suggest improvements to tools, dashboards, and metrics.
- Mentorship: Act as a resource for junior engineers and collaborate within and sometimes across teams on cross-functional projects.
- Continuous improvement: Engage in ongoing development of engineering practices, and operational and development processes.
- Business impact: Directly contribute to customer satisfaction and organizational goals by improving core features and enhancing organizational knowledge.
