Software Design Assurance Engineer, Advanced

The SW Design Assurance Team requires Engineering Skills in Embedded Systems, SW Platform and
Operating Systems to assess design quality for the Embedded Systems Design Assessment. The designassurance team supports Zebra’s promise of quality to our customers and is responsible for ensuringproducts meet specifications throughout program phases from SW components to final SW/FW product.This position works with a minimum level of supervision.

Perform an analysis of SW Design Assurance for Embedded System Technology products and provide
feedback for all the key Quality Metrics and deliverables executed by the functional teams, including:• Responsible for SW Quality assessment of Mobile Computing products, NPI Data Capture, MachineVision, Embedded Systems Platform and device solutions. Identify deviations from stated productgoals, standards, and processes.• Perform Software Quality Reviews, measure and monitor progress of programs under development.• Lead and conduct Product Release readiness reviews ensuring release criteria for software & devicesolutions are met and communicate all quality issues, risks, requirements gap prior to productapproval.• Recommend latest technologies and new approaches to design and implementation of new technology• Should have strong knowledge of cause-and-effect relation between SW defects and potentialcustomer impact use cases.• Enabling strong customer advocacy support, specifically in Android, Windows, Data Capture andMachine Vision Technologies• Audit Alpha/Beta/Pilot/POC SW in customer environment when needed and execute critical customeruse cases.• Knowledge of the SDLC, testing concepts, methodologies, metrics, automated SW testing frameworks• Experience in delivery and manage multi release projects in AGILE (Scrum, Scaled Agile) andknowledge of SW tools like JIRA, Confluence, Automation and GenAI. • Guidance of the process, test methodologies, test strategy used in production of Zebra's NPI SWproducts and solutions including Software Stability, Stress, and performance strategies• Experience communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informalsettings• Actively participate in SW Product and applications Risk Assessment and mitigation activities

Minimum Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering field (Software Engineering, Computer Science and Embedded Systems SW)

• Masters Degree preferred

Minimum Work Experience (years):

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Software Engineering /Test Engineering & Computer Science.

Experience of driving release process for embedded and cloud solutions.

Software tool Exp :

knowledge of SW tools like JIRA, Confluence, Automation and GenAI. 

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong Analytical skills, problem solving skills and excellent communication skills

• Android, Python, Perl, C, C++, Java preferred

• Knowledge of test framework preferred.

Licenses/Certifications, special qualifications:

• ISTQB, CSQA preferred
