Role Overview

YODA (Youth Organisation in Defence of Animals) is looking for a Social Media Manager with moderate experience who can take ownership of our content and brand presence across platforms. You don’t need to know everything on day one—what matters is your ability to research, learn quickly, and get things done.

You will work closely with the team and play an active role in shoot assistance, campaign planning, donor and supporter communication, PR activities, and social media management for YODA and its initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute social media strategy for YODA and its verticals (shelters, adoption, campaigns, Vet Set Go, YODA Store, etc.)
• Research topics, trends, and creative formats to keep content fresh, impactful, and aligned with animal welfare storytelling
• Assist with brand shoots, adoption drives, and fundraising campaigns, including pre-production and on-ground support
• Handle influencer, volunteer, and celebrity coordination, including communication and scheduling
• Create basic social media creatives and edits (using Canva, CapCut, Photoshop, etc.)
• Leverage AI tools to ideate, draft, and execute creative content faster
• Write engaging captions, post copy, and social media content calendars
• Track analytics and performance to improve content reach, fundraising, and engagement
• Coordinate PR opportunities, collaborations, and campaign launches

Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in social media management (agency or brand side)
• Creative thinker with a “figure it out” attitude
• Strong research skills and curiosity to learn
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
• Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, etc.)
• Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, MidJourney, etc.) for content ideas and execution
• A good sense of storytelling, trends, and audience engagement
• Passion for animals and compassion-driven content
