Role & responsibilities

The Social Marketing Intern will support the digital marketing team in executing social media, email, and WhatsApp outreach activities. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and customer engagement across multiple online channels.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Support:

  • Assist in planning and publishing content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Help monitor engagement, respond to basic queries, and track performance metrics.

Email Marketing Assistance:

  • Support in drafting email content for newsletters, promotional campaigns, and automated flows.
  • Help manage mailing lists, audience segmentation, and campaign scheduling using tools like Mailchimp, HubSpot, or Sendinblue.
  • Collect and report basic analytics such as open rates and click-through rates.

WhatsApp Marketing Activities:

  • Assist in creating and distributing WhatsApp messages and broadcast updates using WhatsApp Business tools.
  • Help maintain contact lists, message templates, and customer follow-up logs.
  • Support in monitoring responses and coordinating follow-ups where required.

Content Creation:

  • Contribute ideas for social posts, email copy, short videos, and basic visuals.
  • Help ensure consistency in brand tone and messaging across all platforms.

Lead Engagement & Follow-Up:

  • Support lead nurturing efforts through timely communication via email and WhatsApp under supervision.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure smooth follow-through on queries.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Assist in gathering weekly data on campaign performance across social media, email, and WhatsApp.
  • Prepare simple reports highlighting engagement trends, audience behavior, and campaign outcomes.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields.
  • Basic familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Interest in learning email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot) and WhatsApp Business features.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear and engaging messages.
  • Good organizational abilities and basic data-handling skills.
  • Enthusiastic, quick learner, and eager to explore digital marketing strategies.
