Site Technician OR field technician

Position: Site Technician Telecom

Location: Kharar(Mohali) and Harshe Chinna(Amritsar)

Experience: 15 years (preferred in telecom site installation & maintenance)

Role Overview:

The Telecom Site Technician will be responsible for executing on-site telecom installation, integration, and maintenance activities. The role involves supporting field deployment, troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues, and ensuring compliance with customer and project specifications. The technician will work closely with the project team, site engineers, and vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out installation, commissioning, and integration of telecom equipment (e.g., switches, routers, radios, power systems, racks, etc.).
• Perform site survey, cabling, earthing, and grounding as per telecom standards.
• Support equipment configuration, patching, and basic testing under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and customer standards.
• Assist in fault identification, troubleshooting, and preventive/corrective maintenance of telecom systems.
• Maintain site documentation including checklists, test reports, photos, and customer sign-offs.
• Coordinate with warehouse/logistics for material receipt, handling, and return.
• Provide daily updates, progress reports, and escalate critical issues in a timely manner.
• Work in alignment with the project coordinator, site engineer, and customer representatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma/ITI in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical, or related field.
• 15 years of experience in telecom site work (freshers with good technical knowledge may also apply).
• Basic understanding of telecom networks, optical fiber, and IP-based systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of installation tools, testing devices, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and follow project documentation.
• Willingness to travel extensively to field sites.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
