Job Title: Site Safety Head - Projects (DGM/AGM)

Location: Bhagalpur, Bihar, Baran (Rajasthan) & Assam

Reporting To: Safety Head - Head Office

Role Purpose

The Site Safety Head - Projects will lead and oversee all safety-related aspects of greenfield and brownfield thermal power plant projects at the Bhagalpur site. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, implementing best practices in construction and project safety management, and driving a culture of safety excellence. The position aligns with Adani Groups mission to supply reliable and affordable power while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all stakeholders involved in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety management systems tailored to greenfield and brownfield thermal power plant projects.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory safety requirements, including audits, inspections, and certifications.
• Lead risk assessments and hazard identification processes to mitigate potential safety risks during construction and project execution phases.
• Collaborate with project management teams to integrate safety protocols into project planning and execution.
• Conduct regular safety training programs for site personnel, contractors, and stakeholders to foster a safety-first culture.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
• Monitor and report safety performance metrics, providing actionable insights to improve safety outcomes.
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with Adani Groups safety standards and policies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety practices, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Provide strategic guidance to site leadership on safety-related matters, ensuring alignment with the business units operational priorities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or equivalent safety management credentials.
• Extensive exposure to thermal power plant construction and operational safety protocols.
• Minimum 20-28 years of experience in construction and project safety management, specifically within thermal power plant projects.
• Proven track record in managing safety for large-scale greenfield or brownfield projects.

Educational Background

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications or postgraduate qualifications in safety management are preferred.

Leadership Capabilities

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive a culture of safety excellence.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including collaboration with contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
• Proven track record in managing safety budgets and resources effectively.
• Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities to align safety initiatives with business goals.
