Site Reliability Engineer

As a Systems Administrator at Wipro Limited, your role involves actively engaging in the design, analysis, development, and troubleshooting of highly-distributed large-scale production systems and event-driven, cloud-based services. You will primarily manage Linux Administration by overseeing a fleet of Linux and Windows VMs as part of the application solutions. Your key responsibilities include: - Contributing to Pull Requests for site reliability objectives. - Promoting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) practices within the organization. - Taking ownership of reliability, uptime, system security, cost, operations, capacity, and performance analysis. - Monitoring and reporting on service level objectives for specific application services and collaborating with business, Technology teams, and product owners to establish key service level indicators. - Ensuring the repeatability, traceability, and transparency of infrastructure automation. - Participating in on-call rotations for operational duties that require manual intervention. - Upholding healthy software development practices and adhering to software development methodologies such as Agile by setting standards for code reviews, work packaging, etc. - Establishing and maintaining monitoring technologies and processes to enhance visibility into application performance, business metrics, and operational workload management. - Collaborating with security engineers to develop plans and automation for proactive and secure responses to emerging risks and vulnerabilities. - Developing, communicating, collaborating, and monitoring standard processes to enhance the long-term health and sustainability of operational development tasks. Qualifications required for this role include: - Possessing 5+ years of experience in system administration, application development, infrastructure development, or related fields. - Demonstrated expertise with programming languages such as Javascript, Python, PHP, Go, Java, or Ruby for a minimum of 5 years. - Proficiency in reading, understanding, and writing code within the same domain for at least 3 years. - Mastery of infrastructure automation technologies like Terraform, Code Deploy, Puppet, Ansible, and Chef for a minimum of 3 years. - In-depth knowledge of container/container-fleet-orchestration technologies including Kubernetes, Openshift, AKS, EKS, Docker, Vagrant, etcd, and zookeeper for at least 3 years. - Comprehensive skills in Cloud and container native Linux administration/build/management for over 5 years.
