Job Description

Technical Planning & Layout:

  • Interpret and implement engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents on-site.
  • Set out sites and organize facilities, ensuring correct alignment, levels, and dimensions as per design.
  • Liaise with design teams to resolve technical queries and discrepancies.

Site Supervision & Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of subcontractors and the site workforce, ensuring quality and productivity.
  • Monitor progress against the project schedule, identify potential delays, and propose corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is carried out to the required standards and specifications.

Quality Assurance & Control:

  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures and standards on-site.
  • Carry out quality checks, inspections, and tests on materials and workmanship (e.g., concrete testing, rebar checks, soil testing).
  • Maintain detailed records of all quality control activities, including test results and inspection reports.
  • Identify and rectify any non-conforming work promptly.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies on site.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among all site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Report and investigate any incidents, accidents, or near misses.

Resource Management:

  • Assist in managing site resources, including labor, plant, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal utilization.
  • Monitor material deliveries and ensure proper storage and usage.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely material requisitions.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, quality reports, and safety logs.
  • Document site activities, progress, and challenges with photographs and written reports.
  • Assist in preparing claims and variations as required.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for technical issues on-site.
  • Liaise effectively with project managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions.

Problem Solving:

  • Proactively identify potential problems, challenges, and risks on-site and develop practical solutions.
  • Respond effectively to unforeseen site conditions or design changes.
