Site Engineer (Civil)

Job Summary

A Site Engineer (Civil) is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The role bridges the gap between the technical design team and on-site construction execution, ensuring quality control and compliance with engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
• Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Verify and ensure the correct usage of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to design.
• Resolve technical issues and provide on-site engineering solutions.
• Manage manpower allocation and work schedules.
• Maintain site documentation, including measurements, drawings, and as-built records.
• Monitor project timelines and suggest corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with environmental and statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: 1–5 years of experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or building projects (varies by employer).

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
