We are looking for a skilled and passionate Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Ahmedabad. Job Responsibilities: - Provide accurate and clear interpretation of spoken language into sign language and vice versa in various settings such as meetings, conferences, educational institutions, and community events. - Work collaboratively with clients to understand their specific communication needs and preferences. - Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of all clients and the information exchanged during interpreting sessions. - Stay current with developments in sign language and interpreting practices to ensure high-quality service delivery. - Attend training or workshops as required to enhance skills and knowledge about interpreting standards and techniques. - Advocate for the rights and needs of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community during interpreting sessions. *Qualifications:* - Proficiency in Indian Sign Language (ISL) and a strong understanding of the deaf culture. - Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter from a recognized institution (preferred). - Excellent communication skills in both verbal and non-verbal forms. - Experience in interpreting in educational, medical, or professional settings (preferred). - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to different environments and diverse groups of people. - Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
