Shop Floor Engineer

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Should be responsible for the KPIs of:

1. Efficiency & productivity (Engineering hours per project & Task completion rate)
2. Quality of work (Defect rate in installed systems or Rework incidents)
3. Documentation & Sop compliance
4. Client Satisfaction (Client feedback scores & Repeat business rate)
5. Equipment Performance (Equipment qualification success rate & Commissioning lead time)
6. Project Delivery (On-time completion percentage & Budget adherence)

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor daily production schedules to meet delivery targets of clients.
• Oversee installation of machinery and equipment.
• Supervise manufacturing processes to ensure smooth and timely operations.
• Identify and fix production issues to reduce downtime.
• Ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with teams such as design, procurement, and quality control to improve production efficiency.
• Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
• Assist in implementing new technologies, processes, or automation systems.
• Train staff on new equipment or updated production processes.
• Manage production budgets if required.
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.
• Understand the project requirement, Order acceptance and flow of work
• Plan and monitor daily production schedules to meet delivery targets of clients
• Complete and review batch records, logbooks, and deviation reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform in-process checks and support Quality Assurance in inspections and audits.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective & preventive action for process deviations
• End-to-end project execution, from order acceptance to machine installation at the client site.

Experience

• 4 or more years of experience in production planning or Assembly work in pharma equipment or engineering sector
• Exposure to Engineering / Manufacturing shopfloor activities.
• Conversant with the manufacturing processes and assembly work and automation system.
• Conversant with ERP/SAP
• Knowledge of hygiene fittings and P&ID diagram preferred
• Must be a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• BE/BTech/DME

• Ability to read & interpret the design drawings to the extent required to write manufacturing procedures with adequate clarity & detail for shop use
• Should have good communication skills

• Problem solving skills & logical approach
• Proficiency in production documentation, audits, and compliance protocols
