Senior Design Engineer

Position Description

This position will work directly with the Design Head for designing and engineering new products (machinery - systems) related to the pharmaceutical industry

Responsibilities

• Execute design and engineering of new products and re-engineering of existing products, ensuring effective task ownership through independent work or structured delegation

• New Product Development (NPD), ECN, Bill of Materials (BOM)

• Develop 2D / 3D

  designs of machines and machine components. Also should do conversion with GD &T
• Develop

  fixture designs

• Work with production to make the prototypes and oversee assembly of prototypes
• Work with R&D team to take trials on this prototype ( including understanding requirement needed for trials) and make reports as per trials conducted
• Analyse which components needs to be changed / modified and make/oversee those changes in the 2D / 3D designs.
• Ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturing processes like CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
• Coordinate the handover of new product designs to the production team and remain involved through final execution to ensure smooth implementation and process streamlining
• Working on 2D & 3D assemblies and their detailing thereof along with their respective BOM ( Bill of Materials and components )
• Work on Sheet metal drawing in 2D and 3D.
• Customization of Products as per Clients requirements
• Interface with vendors for clarifications and doubts
• Reverse engineering of samples / innovator products
• Coordinate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance
• Generating 2D/3D fabrication drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions BOM and P&ID diagrams of the equipment
• Knowledge of Process equipment P&ID and sheet metal drawings
• Use CAD software such as Inventor & AutoCAD, to develop parts, assemblies, and complete machine systems
• Responsible for preparing accurate and timely project execution reports and providing regular status updates

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in Equipment and machinery manufacturing

• 3+ years of experience in CAD Design 2D & 3D in Autodesk/ Inventor

• Candidates with background in relevant Industrial/production/ manufacturing experience will be given preference.

Technical and Domain Skills

• B.TECH / B. Engineering ( Degree or Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD Design – 2D & 3D on Autodesk / Inventor platforms
• Additional courses in CAD drafting - presentation of drawings etc
• Understand equipment manufacturing and engineering design
• Familiar with bearing, gears, fasteners, fits and tolerances etc
• Additional courses in product design / Design Engineering
