Design Engineer

Position Description

This position will work directly with the Design Manager for designing and engineering new products (machinery - systems) related to the pharmaceutical industry

• Create detailed 3D models of pharmaceutical machines (e.g., softgel encapsulation machines, dryers, tumblers).
• Use CAD software such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, to develop parts, assemblies, and complete machine systems.
• Ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturing processes like CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
• Consider material selection, tolerances, and ease of assembly.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and fabrication teams to integrate mechanical systems with automation and controls.
• Coordinate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance.
• Generating 2D/3D fabrication drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions.
• Modify standard designs to meet customer-specific requirements such as size, output rate, material type, and space constraints.
• Participate in the prototyping phase, support the assembly team during initial builds, and suggest design improvements.
• Update 3D models and documentation as part of product lifecycle management (PLM).
• Ensure machine design follows GMP regulations for pharmaceutical equipment.

Experience

• 2.5+ years of experience in Equipment and machinery manufacturing

• 2.5+ years of experience in CAD Design 2D & 3D in Autodesk Inventor

• Candidate with background in relevant Industrial/production/ manufacturing experience will be given preference.

Technical and Domain Skills

• B.TECH / B. Engineering ( Degree or Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD Design 2D & 3D on Autodesk / Inventor platforms
• Additional courses in CAD drafting - presentation of drawings etc
• Understand equipment manufacturing and engineering design
• Familiar with bearing, gears, fasteners, fits and tolerances etc
• Additional courses in product design / Design Engineering
