Manufacturing Production Engineer

Role Overview

Uravu Labs is building breakthrough atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology that extracts pure drinking water from air using proprietary liquid desiccant systems powered by renewable energy.

We're scaling in-house manufacturing for data centers, hospitality, and commercial clients.

We're looking for a Production Engineer to own day-to-day production operations, ensure process consistency, and drive continuous improvement as we scale from pilot units to volume manufacturing of thermal-chemical process equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations & Process Control

• Execute and monitor daily production of AWG systems and integrated thermal equipment
• Ensure adherence to SOPs for liquid desiccant handling, fabrication, assembly, leak testing, and commissioning
• Monitor process parameters (flow rates, temperatures, pressures, desiccant concentrations) and maintain production schedules
• Track yield, cycle times, downtime, rework rates, and process deviations across fabrication and assembly stages

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (FSSAI) for drinking water production equipment
• Perform leak testing, water quality validation, and thermal performance checks before system handover
• Maintain production records, batch logs, test reports, and documentation for audits and customer validation
• Coordinate with Quality team on material compatibility, food-grade component requirements, and performance validation

Process Improvement & Troubleshooting

• Identify bottlenecks in fabrication, welding, plumbing, wiring, and assembly processes
• Implement process improvements to reduce lead times, material waste, and manufacturing costs
• Analyze production data to identify root causes of defects, leaks, or performance issues and drive corrective actions
• Support design-for-manufacturing feedback to Engineering team on producibility and cost optimization

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Engineering (thermal, mechanical, automation), Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams
• Coordinate material availability, component arrivals, and vendor quality with Supply Chain team
• Support commissioning, trials, and process stabilization activities for new system designs
• Interface with automation team on PLC/HMI integration, sensor calibration, and control system testing

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Production, or Industrial Engineering

• 5+ years of experience in process industry manufacturing

  (chemical processing, thermal equipment, HVAC, food & beverage, pharma, or utilities)
• Strong understanding of

  fluid systems, thermal processes, and process control parameters

• Experience with

  SOP-driven production, batch processes, and quality validation protocols

• Hands-on exposure to

  fabrication, welding, assembly, and leak testing of process equipment

• Ability to analyze process data, troubleshoot deviations, and implement corrective actions

Good to Have

• Experience with

  liquid/chemical handling systems, desiccants, or thermal equipment manufacturing

• Knowledge of

  food-grade or pharma-grade manufacturing standards

  and material compatibility
• Exposure to

  PLC/SCADA systems, automation integration, or IoT-enabled equipment

• Familiarity with

  lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies

• Experience in

  scaling production from pilot/prototype to volume manufacturing

• Background in

  water treatment, refrigeration, heat exchangers, or HVAC equipment
