Shift Officer - DCS ( Calcium Chloride )

Qualification- BSc /Diploma with experience of 6+ years in a continuous process chemical plant (preferably CaCl) with DCS operation exposure will be preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

Process monitoring

• Operate and monitor all plant systems (CaCl2 Reaction, Evaporator, Granulator, HAG etc.) through the DCS
• Maintain process parameters as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) and set points.
• Coordinate with field operators to ensure smooth running of equipment and quick response to process deviations
• Log process data, alarms, and events accurately and report abnormalities to the Shift Incharge
• Support startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures in coordination with the operations and maintenance teams.
• Monitor interlocks, trips, and alarms ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Maintain shift logbook and daily production reports
• Ensure compliance with plant safety, environment, and quality standards
• Communicate effectively with maintenance, instrumentation, and utility teams for issue resolution
• Participate in troubleshooting, process optimization, and RCA activities
• Train field operators on DCS operations and process control concepts.

Quality / Environment / Health & Safety Management

• To ensure quality adherence of the processes and initiate actions to address any quality issue
• Review product compliance as per specifications
• Ensure compliance to safety norms & minimize direct exposure to hazardous chemicals
• Ensure compliance to air and water pollution standards and other statutory requirements.
• Observing & reporting of safety violations in order to insist following of safe procedures like wearing PPE`s, follow work permit system, etc
• Implement and Maintain 5S in plant area.

System Knowledge

• DCS operation and logic understanding
• Process interlocks, alarms, and control loops
• Trend and historian data analysis
