Shift Incharge- Railway

Purpose/Objective

The position is responsible for the execution of efficient and effective Planning and execution of Railway operations considering the safety, environmental, and operational factors while complying with the port policies, procedures, and statutory compliances

Key Responsibilities of Role

No. Key Accountabilities 1. Responsible for planning of daily railway operations and ensuring operational efficiency and safety of Rake operation. Ensure shift Rake, back up yard, and rail operations are managed efficiently. Plan and coordinate availability of necessary resources with stakeholders for availability during the shift. 2. Interaction with customers in consultation with HOD as well as liaison with other departments. Performs all work within established standards while maintaining the integrity and quality of cargo, workers and equipment. Conducts shift tool box meetings with all shift area leaders and staff Ensures the safety of Terminal personnel and equipment through personal Terminal safety inspections, employee training, heightened awareness, and delegated accountability as per our safety policies are meet 3. Place rake indents to railway in co-ordination with the Dry Cargo Dept. and clients. Coordinate with Indian Railway to get the required no. of rakes as per the operation plan of Dry cargo, when indents are being placed by Railway Services Dept. 4. Deliver cargo to All clients by rail as per plan, monitor yard operation, loading / discharge, and liaison with client’s representative for advance planning to maintain delivery schedule. 5. Monitor and maintain record of Loco turn round time, Wagon turns round time including APSEZ Wagons, ensure optimum loco utilization of APSEZ and take corrective action Manage Information Technology Department Management to achieve. Ensure necessary reporting during the shift for all internal and external stakeholders are completed. 6. Planning of rake operations endure with in TAT as per guideline. Coordinate with Shippers/ receivers/ clients/commodity managers/Railway officials /planning and allocation for smooth cargo operation 7. Proper execution of Rake and cargo operations as planned. Control dead freight as per customer contact. Explore potential areas of operations for new technologies or systems through TOS and other areas of responsibility that can enhance terminal safety, operations and efficiency 8. Accountable and Mobilization and oversee safety of railway labors. 9. Mobilizing railway equipment. coordination with vendor 10 Proper information flow between different parties and vendor

Qualifications and Experience

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (degree, training, or certification required) Bachelor’s degree Preferable RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required) Experiences: 3-5 years in Railway Operation
