Job Description

ServiceNow Solution Architect / Presales Lead

Core Responsibilities

Presales / Client Discovery

Lead discovery with US stakeholders (CIO/VP IT/IT Ops/Service Delivery).
Identify triggers: over-customisation, upgrade blockers, performance issues, messy CMDB, broken workflows, fragile integrations.
Convert problems into a phased roadmap:

Health Check (24 weeks) Modernisation/Upgrade plan AMS

Create
proposal/SOW
: scope, milestones, assumptions, out-of-scope, risk register, timeline, staffing plan.

Architecture & Delivery Governance

Define target design patterns: clean scripting, minimal custom, upgrade-safe changes.
Create modernization approach: rationalize business rules, flows, portal/workspace, data model cleanup.
Own upgrade factory approach: sandbox strategy, regression scope, test plan, rollback, release bundling.

People & Quality

Support hiring interviews (architect + lead + dev).
Coach team on best practices, review complex designs, unblock critical issues.
Define “Definition of Done” for modernization and AMS.

Must-have Skills

7–10+ yrs ServiceNow (10+ total).
Strong platform fundamentals: ACL/security, scripting patterns, performance tuning, debugging.
Experience with
over-customised instances
, refactoring, de-risking upgrades.
Excellent communication and structured thinking (client-ready, US overlap).

Nice-to-have

CSDM/CMDB maturity work, Discovery/MID exposure.
ATF strategy for regression.
ServiceNow certs (CSA/CAD/CIS).

Deliverables this person should produce

Health Check template + scorecard (tech debt, upgrade readiness, performance, governance).
Upgrade Factory checklist + regression approach.
Reference architecture + coding standards (script patterns, naming, logging).
