Service Engineer – Mining Trucks / LHDs (Load-Haul-Dump machines)

Job Title: Service Engineer – Mining Trucks / LHDs Location: UCIL, Tummalapalle (Andhra Pradesh) Department: Maintenance / Service Reporting To: Site Service Manager / Project Manager Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Service Engineer to manage service and maintenance activities for Mining Trucks, LHDs, and other HEMM equipment at UCIL Tummalapalle. The ideal candidate will ensure optimum equipment uptime, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to support uninterrupted mining operations. Key Responsibilities: Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of LHDs, mining trucks, and other underground mining equipment. Perform troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Maintain service logs, daily reports, and breakdown history. Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for spares, warranty support, and technical documentation. Ensure compliance with safety and statutory guidelines during maintenance and repair activities. Plan and execute equipment overhauls, component change-outs, and major repairs. Monitor machine health using diagnostic tools, fault codes, and sensors. Train and guide site technicians and operators for best equipment handling practices. Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables. Support the implementation of TPM, RCM, and 5S practices at the site. Liaise with UCIL’s maintenance and safety teams for coordination and approvals. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile / Mining Machinery Engineering. 3–8 years of experience in underground mining equipment maintenance, preferably with LHDs, mining trucks (e.g., Sandvik, Epiroc, Atlas Copco, GHH, etc.). Sound knowledge of hydraulics, engines, powertrains, transmissions, electrical circuits, and control systems. Familiarity with mining safety norms and DGMS guidelines. Ability to read service manuals, hydraulic/electrical schematics. Experience working in underground mining conditions preferred. Preferred Skills: Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Team player with a hands-on attitude. Good communication in English and Telugu (preferred). Knowledge of CMMS / SAP / service tracking tools.
