Service Advisor

Job Summary:The Service Advisor serves as the liaison between customers and the service department. They are responsible for greeting customers, understanding their vehicle service and repair needs, and ensuring a smooth and satisfying service experience. The Service Advisor communicates technical information between the customer and the technician, manages repair timelines, and ensures customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:Greet customers promptly and courteously upon arrival. Listen to customers’ descriptions of vehicle problems and determine the best solution. Generate repair orders and ensure accurate documentation of work to be performed. Provide cost estimates, explain repair processes, and obtain customer approvals. Coordinate with technicians to communicate customer needs and diagnose issues. Maintain regular communication with customers about repair progress and any additional services required. Follow up after service to ensure customer satisfaction. Promote service department promotions, warranties, and maintenance plans. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service reception area. Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards. Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or technical degree preferred. Previous experience in automotive service or customer service is strongly preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with basic computer applications (e.g., CRM, repair order software). Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Preferred Skills:Knowledge of automotive systems and repairs. Familiarity with dealership management software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds). Bilingual abilities are a plus. Working Conditions:Indoor/outdoor setting depending on customer interaction. May require standing for extended periods and occasional vehicle movement.
