Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced z/OS Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our IBM mainframe environment. The role involves ensuring system availability, performance tuning, security management, and providing technical support for business-critical applications running on z/OS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support IBM z/OS mainframe systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and integration with related subsystems (CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, RACF, etc.).
  • Monitor system performance and implement tuning measures for optimal efficiency.
  • Manage system security and access controls (RACF/ACF2/Top Secret).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with application, network, and storage teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years of hands-on experience in IBM z/OS system administration.
  • Strong expertise in mainframe subsystems (CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of security tools (RACF/ACF2/Top Secret).
  • Proficiency in JCL, REXX, and automation tools.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
