Senior Vice President, Team lead, Data Scientist

As part of DBS Bank s vision to be the Best Bank for a Better World powered by data and AI, this role will lead the design and execution of data analytics and AI-led business strategies across Consumer Banking Group (CBG) and Institutional Banking Group (IBG).

The incumbent will drive the adoption of AI/ML, including Generative and Agentic AI, to enhance customer experience, unlock cross-sell and up-sell synergies, and deliver cost optimisation through intelligent automation and predictive insights. The role demands deep analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across business and technology domains.

Key Accountabilities:

• AI & Analytics Strategy:

Define and drive data analytics based strategies that enable business growth, improve operational efficiency, and create competitive advantage across CBG and IBG.

• GenAI & Agentic AI Innovation:

Lead the identification, development, and implementation of Generative AI and Agentic AI driven solutions that reimagine customer journeys, enhance productivity, and support data-led decision making.

• Cross-Business Synergy:

Partner with product and business heads across CBG and IBG to design integrated data models that enable holistic customer view, cross-sell, and up-sell opportunities.

• Analytics Capability Development:

Continuously strengthen the analytical and AI capabilities of the team by embedding best-in-class tools, frameworks, and methodologies in line with industry evolution.

• Data Architecture & Governance:

Collaborate with Group Technology and Data Engineering teams to ensure data pipelines, architecture, and governance frameworks are robust, scalable, and aligned to enterprise data strategy.

• Business Partnering & Influence:

Act as a trusted advisor to senior management translating analytical insights into strategic actions and measurable business impact.

Requirements:

• Technical & Analytical Expertise:
• Strong command of Python and PySpark for data processing, model development, and automation.
• Proven experience delivering GenAI / Agentic AI use cases with tangible business outcomes.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, pipelines, and model deployment frameworks.
• Banking & Business Acumen:
• Strong understanding of retail and institutional banking products, customer lifecycles, and profitability drivers.
• Demonstrated ability to drive data-driven business transformation in banking or financial services.
• Leadership & Stakeholder Skills:
• Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills at senior leadership level.
• Track record of building and mentoring high-performing analytics teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Business Analytics.
• 12 18 years of experience in data analytics, AI, or digital transformation preferably in banking or financial services.
• Prior exposure to enterprise-scale AI / ML production deployment and AI governance frameworks.

Success Measures:

• Measurable increase in business growth and cost efficiency driven by AI/analytics interventions.
• Successful rollout of GenAI/Agentic AI initiatives delivering business or customer impact.
• Enhanced analytical maturity and AI adoption across CBG and IBG.
