Job Purpose To solve business problems For Managing the Core Oracle databases its Uptime , Compliance, Periodic maintenance , Optimisation and Improves Database performance to meet user needs for Bajaj FinServ Core Applications Duties and Responsibilities 1.Database Design and Development:Ensuring that database services are designed and built with high availability, performance, and resiliency. 2.System Architecture:Collaborating with other engineering teams to architect and implement database platforms in a distributed cloud environment. 3.Performance Optimization:Continuously improving database performance and ensuring maximum availability. 4.High Availability Solutions:Implementing high availability and replication technologies like Data Guard and GoldenGate. 5.Troubleshooting and Maintenance:Handling production operations and troubleshooting complex issues. 6.Scripting and Automation:Developing scripts and automation tools to enhance database operations. 7.Security and Compliance:Ensuring that databases comply with security standards and regulations. Key Decisions / Dimensions 1. Technology Stack:Maintenance schedule, Optimisation approach , Upgrade and Migrate approach and frequency 2. Code Quality:Automation implementation , using customisation scripts 3. Security:Implementing authentication, authorization, and data protection measures 4. Development & Deployment:managing version control, and optimizing performance 5. Collaboration:Selecting tools for communication and project management and maintaining documentation 6. Product Evolution:Prioritizing feature development and managing technical debt 7. Mentorship:Guiding junior developers and promoting knowledge sharing Major Challenges 1. Communication and Collaboration: Ensuring seamless communication across diverse teams is vital, particularly in remote setups, using tools and practices that promote clear information flow and mutual understanding 2. Quality: Maintaining high code quality and thorough testing is critical. SDE should implement CI/CD practices, ensure comprehensive test coverage, and address technical debt proactively, balancing the need for rapid delivery with long-term maintainability and reliability of the software 3.
