Role Overview:

The Senior Structural Designer is responsible for planning, distributing, monitoring, and checking design and construction drawing activities for structural and outfitting works such as foundations, platforms, helidecks, and living quarters. The role involves managing multiple projects and overseeing design teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a checker for design-related deliverables.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drafting packages following company standards.
• Conduct periodic model reviews and participate in formal 3D model reviews.
• Review designs for completeness, safety, accessibility, and operability.
• Coordinate with CAD coordinators for project closeout and documentation.
• Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and support construction documentation.
• Ensure interdisciplinary and management review of design deliverables.
• Establish and update discipline-specific design guidelines and standards.
• Plan and schedule team activities and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with clients on conceptual design development.
• Estimate drawing quantities and develop budget requirements.
• Review and comment on vendor drawings and optimize design for cost and schedule.
• Coordinate with IT for software setup and configuration.
• Maintain Engineering Document Registers (EDR) and subcontract deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  ITI in Draftsmanship or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering.

• Experience:

  8–14 years in offshore/onshore oil & gas facilities or drilling rig design and construction.

• Software Proficiency:

  AutoCAD for 2D drafting
• ShipConstructor or AVEVA Marine for 3D hull modeling
• PDMS, TEKLA, or equivalent for 3D structural modeling
