As a Senior Design Manager specializing in HVAC systems, your primary responsibilities include: - Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and other pertinent standards necessary for designing HVAC systems for high-rise residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. - Assuming sole responsibility for the HVAC design aspect of the project. - Conducting assessments to determine heating and cooling requirements. - Designing efficient HVAC systems and proposing innovative products, technologies, and design enhancements after conducting feasibility studies. - Evaluating various options from a techno-commercial perspective and providing recommendations. - Suggesting energy-efficient and environmentally friendly design solutions and products. - Calculating ventilation needs and budgetary costs for heating and cooling systems, followed by detailed estimates. - Collaborating closely with architects and other engineering disciplines during the design phase of heating and cooling systems. - Reviewing architectural and structural drawings to gain a thorough understanding. - Providing detailed guidance to junior engineers and drafting engineers for the creation of high-quality drawings. - Monitoring the progress and quality of drawings in Revit and CAD until the GFC (Good for Construction) stage. - Identifying requirements/discrepancies in architectural/structural drawings and communicating these to the relevant parties within 2 working days. - Developing a concept design based on final architectural drawings. - Compiling documentation for sanctioning purposes in adherence to codes and local regulations. - Participating in design review meetings and obtaining approval on concept designs before proceeding to detailed designs. - Creating a Design Brief report and generating detailed designs in alignment with the approved concept and scheme. - Checking drawings against a checklist and submitting them as per commitments. - Designing HVAC duct routes and equipment layouts using Revit/BIM software. - Detailing duct routes, preparing Bills of Materials (BOM), and creating all HVAC drawings using Revit/BIM software. - Generating Bill of Quantities (BOQ), estimates, technical specifications, approved makes, and takeoff sheets. - Developing tender drawings, specifications, and BOM for tendering purposes. - Conducting technical evaluations of tenders and providing ratings/recommendations for vendors. - Performing quality checks and site inspections during different construction stages. - Acquiring LEED/IGBC certification for the building. - Reviewing shop drawings and technical data sheets. - Maintaining documentation of all design materials and drawings. - Conducting handover inspections as required. - Utilizing specialized software to produce designs and drawings of products. - Creating equipment manuals and maintenance booklets for the site team. - Collaborating with the in-house team to develop As-Built drawings. - Overseeing construction activities, evaluating test reports, and ensuring the proper construction of HVAC systems across all projects. - Reviewing equipment and material submittals and addressing HVAC-related issues during and after construction. - Conducting site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve HVAC system-related concerns. - Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures. - Adhering to project timelines and ensuring project compliance. - Communicating and coordinating effectively with various teams and departments to support architectural and engineering design efforts. - Engaging with other teams throughout the design and construction phases to facilitate seamless collaboration.
