Senior Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Datakrew, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining server-side logic and databases. Your responsibilities will include implementing APIs to support front-end applications and external services, as well as designing and optimizing database schemas. You will be expected to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while also optimizing code and database queries for performance, scalability, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions to automate the software development lifecycle. - Set up, configure, and manage services on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure to support scalable, resilient, and secure application architectures. - Utilize Docker for containerized deployments, ensuring scalability and consistency across environments. - Implement and manage Kubernetes for container orchestration, leveraging features such as auto-scaling and auto-healing. - Implement monitoring solutions using tools like Prometheus to oversee the health and performance of applications. - Integrate APIs and webhooks to connect and automate workflows between different systems. - Use Git for version control and collaborate with the team on code management. Qualifications: - Strong command in C++ for backend development. - Proven experience of writing efficient database queries (both SQL and NoSQL). - Experience in developing solutions for data-intensive IoT sensor data streaming applications. - Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions. - Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, including setting up and managing their services. - Strong knowledge of Docker for containerized deployments. - Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration. - Bachelors or equivalent higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in a similar role. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Experience with additional programming languages or technologies (e.g. Python and Java or C#). - Experience with other IoT platforms and technologies is a plus.
